Wood You Marry Me by Daphne Elliot Book 2 of the Lovewell Lumberjack Series
Wood You Marry Me by Daphne Elliot is book 2 of the Lovewell Lumberjack Series. Now, I read this series out of order by accident. I have a tendency to start reading a book without checking to see if it belongs in a series. And though this book can be read as a standalone, I suggest reading book 1, Wood You Be Mine first. Having realized midway that there is a book 1, I decided to finish book 2 with the intent to read book 1 right after. Which is what I did.... and enjoyed it as well.
This series is about a family of lumberjacks. Book 1 was based on the first and oldest son, Henri. This second book is about the baby of the family, Remy. He's the fourth sibling in the Gagnon Family.
It's a marriage of convenience that quickly evolved into a love story that is sure to be a favorite for any romantic who loves a man who gets stung with cupid's arrow.
This book was entertaining, funny with comical anecdotes and it's romantic with steamy scenes. It's a brother's best friend, unrequited love story with Remy finally seeing Hazel for the woman she is and no longer "Pip" the sweet best friend's sister that followed him everywhere. I love the moment he realizes and sees Hazel for the "first" time.
This story had all the feels and had me swooning and dreaming of a shirtless lumberjack. I know I'll be checking out some lumberjack competition videos to get a better understanding of this intriguing sport. 😂
I've found myself invested in this family and this small mountain town and can't wait to get to book 3, Wood You Rather.
