Ruthless

Ruthless by Hannah Gray is a bit of a departure from Hannah's normal college sports romance. Though, Briar, the female main character, is Walker's younger sister from The Puck Boys Series, this story deals with the mafia. It's a bodyguard, widower, grumpy, age gap story that has a plot, romance, steam and suspense. It's a slow burn that is well worth the wait.

Hudson "Hercules" Hale tried as he might to fight the feelings that kept building for Briar. He was set on never falling in love again. The losses he had endured early in life resulted in a lonely and dangerous one.

Briar "Dove" James seemed unassuming enough. A meek girl with her future decided upon, Hudson surmised that she was the typical "ditsy" rich girl. Far from it! Briar has her own agenda that landed her in a dangerous mafia family's grasp. She is a beautiful girl on the outside but she was a force to be reckoned with on the inside. And nothing was going to stop her.

I enjoyed reading this story and it kept me engaged throughout with it's spicy scenes and suspense.
