Unmasking the Curse

by Chelle Cypress

Book 1 The Aralian Series

Just finished Unmasking the Curse by Chelle Cypress last night. I didn’t know what to expect. It had me guessing with suspense and intrigue. By the end of the book, I was left in tears and that was quite unexpected.

I met Chelle Cypress at a book signing in San Diego, CA and was intrigued with her book. I'm so glad that I took a chance on her.

This story had me guessing with secrets and mysteries intermingled with a slow burn romance that had me needing to find out more and more as the story went on. The story had a well thought out plot with twists and turns. It's not as spicy as other books out there but there was enough to make for a good romance.

The ending had me crying and emotional which I had not expected. I think it's a good sign that she was able to get me invested emotionally without really realizing it until the end. It was a nice surprise and was what has me wanting even more.

My only criticism is... well not so much a criticism but a pet peeve of mine is the use of words too often throughout the book. Words such as vacillated, ruminations and capitulated. I feel like she used these words too much when she could have used other synonyms.

Looking forward to the rest of the series.
