Someone You Deserve

Goodness. This book had me on a choke hold from start to finish. I have quickly become a true fan of Harlow James's smalltown romance books. She has a way of creating wonderful, romantic love stories that not only brings romance and emotion but thoughtful insights and relativity to real life struggles and accomplishments. 

This story deals with loss of loved ones and the struggles that the survivors deal with in the aftermath. I just lost my mom this past week, so this story really hit home with me. A lot of the struggles that both Penn and Astrid went through are things I'm going through at this moment. 

Setting the loss aside, this book is pure love that gives hope and joy. Penn's undying and unrequited love for Astrid is what every girl dreams and prays for. His selflessness is admirable and inspiring. He has strength and steadfastness that is sexy but his vulnerability and sense of self makes him all the more dreamy and relatable. 

I love the family dynamics and the found families that are beginning to form in this little cove town. The small town feeling is very apparent with the small town gossips and shenanigans.

I'm super excited to read more from the family and it's neighbors.
